COSTA MESA, California — Coastline College student Kalieth Uribe was awarded a $250 paralegal scholarship from Johnson Attorneys Group in Newport Beach.
Uribe, a young Orange County mother, was one of roughly 250 students to receive scholarships at the 2019 annual awards. The Foundation at Coastline College awarded nearly 300 scholarships among the students for the 2018/2019 academic year. The awards, which ranged from $250 to $5,000 were handed out during the ceremony held at the Orange Coast College Robert Moore Theater.
“First of all, I feel very honored to be able to receive this award,” said Kalieth Uribe. “The moment I received the news that I was a recipient for the award I became very emotional because it reminded of that of road of difficulties I have endured and persevered throughout my life. Thank you for supporting me in pursing my dreams. In addition, I would like to express my gratitude not only for the financial support but also for taking into consideration my story and believing in my capability. Thank you so much for coming along side me in my academic journey.”
The college attracts a diverse group of students with programs that include distance learning, active duty military and spouses and incarcerated students.
