One Injured, One Killed in Head-on Crash Highway 99
TEHAMA COUNTY, Calif. (March 25, 2024) – Kirk Brown, 54, of Redding, was hospitalized with major injuries after a fatal head-on crash with another driver Friday morning on Highway 99 and Palm Street in Tehama County.
The deadly crash occurred on March 22nd when the other driver in a 2015 Nissan Sentra veered into the path of Kirk Brown’s 2019 Volkswagen, Action News Now reports.
The 35-year-old Redding man was driving a 2015 Nissan Sentra northbound on Highway 99 when he allegedly crossed over the double yellow lines into southbound traffic. The two vehicles collided head-on and both drivers sustained major injuries.
The driver from the Nissan was airlifted to Enloe Hospital, but he later died from his injuries.
Meanwhile, Kirk Brown was taken by ground ambulance to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for treatment of major injuries, but there is no further information.
The case remains under investigation by the Red Bluff CHP Office.
