Lacey Vickers Arrested Fatal Victorville Crash Village Drive, Clovis StreetFatal Crash at Village Drive and Clovis Street; Driver Arrested DUI

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (Feb. 7, 2022) — Police arrested Lacey Cecenthia Vickers, 30, of Barstow, following a fatal crash Sunday night at Village Drive and Clovis Street in Victorville.

She faces charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and suspicion of driving under the influence causing death, according to the Victorville Police Department.

The deadly, two-vehicle crash happened about 11:06 p.m. on February 6, 2022. An unidentified 55-year-old Victorville man died in the collision between a Jeep SUV and Cadillac sedan.

Lacey Vickers was driving northbound on Village Drive and the Victorville man was heading southbound on Village Drive. The two vehicles collided head-on due to unknown circumstances.

The Jeep became engulfed in flames, but they were put out by a deputy sheriff using a fire extinguisher. The deputy also shattered the drivers’ side window and pulled Lacey Vickers from the driver’s seat. Vickers sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash and is currently being treated at a trauma center.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Cadillac sedan suffered major injuries and died at the scene.

Lacey Vickers Arrest; Victorville Crash Investigation

The Victorville Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T) responded is heading up the investigation.

During the investigation, police determined that Vickers was driving under the influence and subsequently arrested her on charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and suspicion of driving under the influence, causing death. Police will book the suspect at West Valley Detention Center upon release from the trauma center.

Additionally, investigators report that Vickers has numerous prior DUI arrests.

Police closed down all northbound and southbound lanes of Village Drive between Llanada Avenue and Clovis Street for several hours due to the investigation.
