Madelynne Broyles, Luke Garcia Fatal Commerce Crash Slauson Avenue

Man, Woman, Both 19 Years Old Identified

COMMERCE, Calif. (April 8, 2024) – Madelynne Broyles, 19, and Luke Garcia, 19, both died Saturday in a crash at the Slauson Avenue off ramp from the 5 Freeway in the Commerce area.

The deadly crash occurred at around 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 6th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

It’s unknown if either of the victims were driving the vehicle that collided with a tan sedan that was stopped on the right shoulder at the off-ramp, the CHP said.

Tow trucks removed both of the vehicles from the roadway for evidence.

Both Luke Garcia and Madelynne Broyles died at the crash scene. Investigators are working to determine what caused the crash and liability.
