
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (Feb. 22, 2023) – A driver struck and killed a young man in his 20s riding a scooter early Wednesday morning on Vineland Avenue in North Hollywood.
The fatal scooter accident occurred about 12:50 a.m. on Vineland Avenue near Riverside Drive, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
The unidentified man suffered major injuries and died at the scene, police said.
Police investigating the circumstances determined the man was riding the scooter in the bike lane in a southbound direction on Vineland Avenue. A driver in a southbound vehicle reportedly struck him from behind in the bike lane.
The man was thrown off the scooter into the roadway. Meanwhile, the motorist stopped and called for help.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the Vineland Avenue scooter accident.
