Woman, 87, Struck and Killed in Irvine
IRVINE, Calif. (July 25, 2023) – Maria Servas, 87, died in a pedestrian accident at Irvine Boulevard and Marketplace in Irvine.
A driver in a Jeep Wrangler reportedly struck the elderly woman walking northbound in a crosswalk at the intersection, police said.
The traffic accident occurred around 7:45 p.m. on Friday, July 21st in Irvine, according to the Irvine Police Department.
The driver of the black Jeep stopped and cooperated with authorities at the scene, police said.
Investigators determined the Jeep Wrangler was traveling westbound on Irvine Boulevard toward Marketplace at the time of the collision. The woman was in a crosswalk at the time of the collision.
Paramedics responded and pronounced him dead at the scene, police said.
Meanwhile, the Irvine Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is asking anyone who witnessed the crash to call them at 949-724-7047.
