 Melissa Kelch, Tonya Taylor Hurt in Highway 29 Crash in Calistoga Head-on Crash in Calistoga Leaves Two Injured

CALISTOGA, Calif. (April 19, 2022) — Melissa Kelch, 43, of Bodega and Tonya Taylor, 43, of Clearlake, were both injured in a crash Saturday morning on Highway 29 in Calistoga.

The head-on crash happened about 11:55 a.m. on Saturday, April 17th, according to a CHP news release.

Tonya Taylor was driving southbound in a 1999 Toyota Camry when she reportedly entered a wet curve in the highway, just north of Old Lawley Toll Road. She allegedly crossed the center line and drove directly into a path of a northbound 2010 Lexus RX350.

Melissa Kelch was driving the Lexus and the two vehicles collided.

American Medical Response sent two ambulances to the scene and transported both drivers to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center. Taylor suffered major injuries in the crash and Kelch suffered minor injuries.

The CHP is heading up the investigation.
