Metro Bus Crashes in Huntington Park
HUNTINGTON PARK, Calif. (Aug. 1, 2022) – A Metro bus and a car collided on Pacific Boulevard at Clarendon Avenue early Monday morning in Huntington Park.
The two-vehicle collision happened about 1:16 a.m. on Pacific Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
A driver in a silver 2000 Scion tC was traveling eastbound on Clarendon Avenue and allegedly drove through a red traffic light at the intersection with Pacific Boulevard, according to the Huntington Park Police Department and Fox 11 News. The car reportedly T-boned the Metro bus and then the bus crashed into a light pole. Meanwhile, the driver in the Scion exited the vehicle and fled on foot, police said.
3 Hospitalized in Car Versus Bus Crash
Three people, including the bus driver and two passengers, suffered non-life threatening injuries in the collision, the Los Angeles Times reports. Paramedics transported all three people to a hospital where the bus driver is being treated for a leg injury.
Authorities are searching for the suspect, but there is no description available at this time.
The investigation into the Huntington Park bus crash is ongoing.
