Glendale Police Arrest Suspect in Hit-and-run Crash

 Michael Taylor, 31, Arrested Glendale Hit-and-run Pedestrian AccidentGLENDALE, Calif. (Nov. 24, 2021) – Glendale police arrested hit-and-run suspect, Michael Taylor, 31, of Los Angeles, for fleeing a pedestrian accident on Nov. 16th at Pacific Avenue and Colorado Street.

The traffic accident happened just before 9 a.m. on Nov. 16 Pacific Avenue and Colorado Street, according to the Glendale Police Department. The motorist allegedly struck and critically injured a pedestrian with his vehicle. The vehicle reportedly dragged the victim for a distance following the impact.

Glendale police took Michael Taylor into custody two days after the accident. The Los Angeles man remained in jail since his Nov. 18 arrest. His arraignment is scheduled at the Glendale Courthouse on Nov. 24th.

Pedestrian Hospitalized after Hit-and-run Collision

The pedestrian suffered major injuries in the crash. Doctors performed numerous surgeries on the victim, police reported.

Authorities conducted an investigation into the crime by studying surveillance footage that confirmed the vehicle had struck the victim, ran them over and dragged them from a business parking lot to the street. Michael Taylor’s vehicle was located by detectives assigned to the department’s robbery/homicide bureau. They located the vehicle in the 600 block of Hawthorne Street and they were able to match it to the one seen on the surveillance footage and were able to identify a suspect.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office charged the suspect with one felony count each of attempted murder and hit-and-run driving resulting in death or serious injury to another person. Also, his charges include one misdemeanor count of hit-and-run driving resulting in property damage.
