Motorcyclist Injured in Crash on I-580 Freeway near The Altamont Pass
LIVERMORE, Calif. (March 14, 2024) — A multi-vehicle motorcycle accident happened Thursday morning on the westbound Interstate 580 Freeway, just east of North Flynn Road in Livermore.
The major injury crash occurred at around 7:54 a.m. on March 14th near the Altamont Pass, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the rider went down in the fast lane after colliding with a white minivan and was found lying in the center divider area of the freeway. A third vehicle was also involved in the crash, but there are no further details.
Paramedics responded to transport the injured motorcyclist to a hospital for treatment of major injuries and a tow truck from Norm’s Towing removed the victim’s black bike from the freeway.
Police issued a SigAlert due to traffic lanes being blocked by vehicles and investigators are working to determine fault for the motorcycle accident on the 580 Freeway in Livermore.
