Woman Critically Injured in Bakersfield Accident
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Nov. 17, 2021) — A fiery, multi-vehicle Bakersfield crash happened Tuesday night on 21st Street at Union Avenue.
The crash, involved up to 10 vehicles, happened about 5:48 p.m. on Nov. 16th, according to Bakersfield Now.
A driver in a Chevrolet Silverado traveling northbound on 21st Street did not slow down as they approached slower traffic ahead.
The pickup truck crashed into a vehicle causing a chain reaction with eight other motorists.
Good Samaritans Rescue Woman from Car
A woman from one of the vehicles suffered major injuries in the Bakersfield crash on 21st Street. As her car became engulfed in flames, some good Samaritans rescued her from the vehicle. Paramedics responded and rushed her to a hospital in critical condition. Also, paramedics transported another person to the hospital with minor injuries.
Meanwhile, the driver causing the chain-reaction crash reportedly fled the scene.
Investigators believe that speed appears to be a factor in collision.
