Multi-Vehicle Crash on State Route 55 in Costa Mesa
COSTA MESA, Calif. (Oct. 14, 2022) — A collision on the southbound Costa Mesa (55) Freeway Friday afternoon happened near the Fair Drive on ramp in Costa Mesa.
The 1:52 p.m. collision on Oct. 14th involved at least three motorists including a blue Tesla Model Y, a black Mercedes S550 sedan and a white Jeep Cherokee SUV, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Tesla wound up on the ice plant on the right shoulder of the freeway, police said. The other two vehicles blocked the right lane of the 55 Freeway.
The Costa Mesa Fire Department responded to help those injured in the collision, but there are no further details.
Tow trucks removed all three of the damaged vehicles from the roadway.
Meanwhile, investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the Costa Mesa (55) Freeway crash.
