Rollover Crash on Costa Mesa (55) Freeway in Santa Ana
SANTA ANA, Calif. (Nov. 15, 2022) — A multi-vehicle car accident involving a jackknifed semi-truck happened Tuesday morning on the southbound State Route 55 Freeway at Dyer Road.
The 4-vehicle collision occurred about 8:38 a.m. on Nov. 15th, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
A black vehicle overturned onto its roof during the crash in the HOV and No. 1 lanes of the freeway. One of the vehicles is described as a construction truck with a wood chipper.
Paramedics responded to help those hurt in the crash, but there are no specific details. Authorities issued a SigAlert due to several lanes being blocked and traffic backing up after the crash on the 55 Freeway.
Meanwhile, a tow truck removed the overturned vehicle from the freeway.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
