Four Hurt in Multi-Vehicle Freeway Crash in Sylmar
SYLMAR, Calif. (Jan. 4, 2022) — Four people were injured in a multi-vehicle Sylmar crash Monday night on the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway near the I-405 Freeway.
The Sylmar crash happened just before 8:10 p.m. near the San Diego (405) Freeway, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. It’s unknown at this time what led up to the collision.
However, at least two vehicles collided and one of them went over the side of the freeway and down a hill. The occupants, a 17-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man, were unable to walk back up the hillside on their own. They were assisted by firefighters and treated by paramedics for minor injuries.
Meanwhile, paramedics also treated a 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old woman for minor injuries.
The cause of the Sylmar crash and liability for the crash remains under investigation.
