Pileup Crash on State Route 78 in Vista Near Emerald Drive
VISTA, Calif. (Sept. 2, 2022) — A Vista crash involving several motorists happened Friday morning on State Route 78, just west of Emerald Drive in San Diego County.
The multi-vehicle collision occurred in the westbound lanes about 8:03 a.m. on September 2nd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a white Kia Optima, a blue Ford Thunderbird, a black Jeep Wrangler, a silver Honda Civic, a GMC pickup truck and a black Subaru were involved in the collision.
It’s unknown what led up to the crash that left the Thunderbird with moderate front-end damage, and the Honda and pickup truck both had major front-end damage. Also, the report stated the Kia had major rear-end damage.
Paramedics responded to the crash scene to help those injured in the collision, but there are no further details.
Meanwhile, the CHP responded to the scene to investigate the crash scene and determine fault.
Finally, a tow truck removed the damaged vehicles from the freeway.
