Woman, 60, Riding Bicycle Killed on Lozanos Road Near School
NEWCASTLE, Calif. (March 18, 2024) — A Newcastle pedestrian accident happened Monday morning on Lozanos Road, just south of Wise Road near Ophir Elementary School.
The collision occurred at around 10:52 a.m. on March 18th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver of a white commercial van and or a Peterbilt tractor trailer truck struck a 60-year-old woman riding a bicycle in front of 1373 Lozanos Road, the CHP said.
The bicycle rider went down in the roadway and sustained undisclosed injuries. Paramedics responded to help the unidentified person, but there are no further details.
Meanwhile, a tow truck removed the big rig truck with two fully-loaded trailers from the scene for an evidence tow, the report said.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the pedestrian accident on Lozanos Road.
