Pedestrian Tending to Ducks Killed Heil Avenue, Carr Park in Huntington Beach

Woman, 57, Fatally Struck in Huntington Beach

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (March 19, 2024) – A pedestrian who was tending to ducks near Carr Park on Heil Avenue died Tuesday morning when she was hit in a car accident in Huntington Beach.

The 57-year-old Huntington Beach woman was in the roadway with some ducks when she was hit by a westbound 2014 Mazda 6. It happened at around 6:30 a.m. on March 19th, just west of Bradbury Lane, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.

The 61-year-old Huntington Beach man driving the Mazda stopped and someone called 911 for help.

Authorities say a driver in an SUV may have also been involved in the collision, but there are no further details at this time.

Meanwhile, the driver in the Mazda cooperated with police officers and the investigation
