Man, 36, Struck and Killed on Pond Road in Delano

BAKERSFIELD, CALIF. (March 14, 2024) — A 55-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident Thursday morning on Pond Road in Delano.

The traffic accident occurred at around 6:38 a.m. on March 14th, according to Bakersfield Now and the California Highway Patrol.

A 36-year-old Delano man driving a Nissan Sentra was heading westbound on Pond Road when he struck the pedestrian, just east of Wallace Road.

The 55-year-old man was walking in a southbound direction on Pond Road and allegedly stepped into the path of the Nissan.

The driver struck the man who sustained major injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.

CHP officials are working on the case and will determine fault for the pedestrian accident on Pond Road.
