Woman Killed in Crash on I-8 Freeway Identified
EL CAJON, Calif. (February 14, 2022) – Razhae Tranell Shepard, 44, of San Diego, and Claudia Hefley, 51, both died in an El Cajon car accident Saturday on the westbound Interstate 8 Freeway near Lakeside.
The drivers of a black sedan and a white pickup truck collided in the westbound side of the highway in El Cajon. The two-vehicle crash took place about 6:18 a.m. on Feb. 12th between Old Highway 80 and Lake Jennings Park Road.
Razhae Shepard was allegedly driving one of the vehicles with Claudia Jeanne Hefley was as his back seat passenger. The vehicle reportedly overturned in the collision, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
Firefighters and police responded and located both vehicles resting on the northern embankment of the freeway. Responding paramedics rendered aid to the passenger and driver of the vehicle. The man was trapped in the vehicle. Both the man and woman died at the scene. The woman’s place of residence is unknown at this time.
Investigators continue to work on the case to determine what led up to the fatal car crash on Interstate 8 in El Cajon.
