Woman Sleeping in Alley Run Over, Killed by City of Redding Trash Truck
REDDING, Calif., (Nov. 1, 2021) — A city of Redding garbage truck ran over a sleeping woman Friday in a dark alleyway near Trinity and Market streets.
The deadly pedestrian accident happened at some time prior to 8 a.m. on Oct. 29th, according to Redding Police and news reports.
Tina Kay Michaels, 56, was reportedly sleeping in the alleyway under dark-colored blankets.
The Redding garbage truck was collecting trash in the downtown area that morning and its driver didn’t see the sleeping woman. Also, the driver did not immediately know they ran over the woman and killed her.
