Man Killed in Crash in Windsor Hills ID’d; Driver Held on $9 M Bail

 Reynold Lester Fatal Windsor Hills Crash at La Brea and Sepulveda AvenuesLOS ANGELES, Calif. (August 8, 2022) –  Reynold Lester, 24, of Los Angeles, was identified as one of six people who died in a fiery crash at La Brea and Sepulveda avenues in the Windsor Hills area of Los Angeles.

The collision happened about 1:40 p.m. on Thursday, August 4th, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The young man’s relatives say he was traveling with his girlfriend, Asherey Ryan, 23, of Los Angeles, and her son, 11-month-old son, Alonzo Quintero.

Reynold Lester and Asherey Ryan were expecting a baby and he was reportedly driving her to a doctor’s appointment. His girlfriend was 8 1/2 months pregnant with their unborn son they intended to name Armani Lester. All four of them died when a driver in a Mercedes allegedly sped through a red light at the intersection and crashed into their car in front of a gas station.  The suspect also collided with two other vehicles.

The family of Reynold Lester created a GoFundMe page and there is also a fundraiser for his girlfriend’s family.

Driver Faces Manslaughter Charges

Authorities say the driver of the Mercedes, Nicole Lorraine Linton, 37, was later arrested and is being held on $9 million bail at the Century Regional Detention Center, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney.  She is charged with six counts of murder and five counts of gross vehicular manslaughter, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The Houston woman worked as a traveling nurse and reportedly drove through a red light before colliding with several vehicles at the intersection including the one driven by security guard, Reynold Lester. The names of the other two people who died have not been released. One of them was located in one of the burned vehicles following the crash.

Meanwhile, there are eight other people who suffered injuries in the crash and were hospitalized. Seven of those people were traveling together in a Chevrolet Traverse. Authorities did not release their names, but mentioned the driver was 33 years old. The passengers included a one-year-old boy and three teenagers suffered who all had moderate injuries. Two other teens from the vehicle were treated for minor injuries.

A 19-year-old driver from an Audi A3 was also treated for minor injuries.
