Bicyclist Killed in Crash on State Route 180
EDISON, Calif. (April 29, 2021) — Ruben Gonzalez, 29, of Fresno, died Sunday when he was struck by a vehicle near Highway 180 and Brawley Avenue in Edison.
The Fresno County Sheriff Coroner reported the collision in the area just west of Fresno. Authorities identified the rider who died, but did not provide any details about the motorist involved.

Meanwhile, it’s unknown at this time what led up to the collision between a vehicle and Ruben Gonzalez. There are marked crosswalks controlled by traffic lights and a large shoulder area next to the roadway. However, there are no bicycle lanes are present in this part of Fresno County.
Paramedics responded to the crash scene, but the bicycle rider died following the collision.
Investigators are reviewing evidence and will determine who is at fault for the collision.
