Bicyclist Hurt In Long Beach Hit-And-Run Has Died
LONG BEACH, Calif. (Nov. 14, 2022) – Samuel Juarez Rivera, 71, of Long Beach, has died Sunday from injuries sustained in a hit-and-run bicycle accident nine days at Anaheim Street and Walnut Avenue in Long Beach.
The Long Beach man died at a hospital, according to the Long Beach Police Department and MyNewsLA.
Meanwhile, authorities have not yet found the suspected hit-and-run motorist.
The crash occurred about 6:25 a.m. on Nov. 4 at the Long Beach intersection. Samule Juarez Rivera was heading northbound on a bike in the east crosswalk at Anaheim Street and Walnut Avenue.
A driver in a white sedan traveling westbound on Anaheim Street struck him in the No. 1 lane, but fled the scene the scene by continuing to drive westbound on Anaheim Street, police said.
Investigators are working on the case and trying to figure out if the driver in the car ran a red light prior to the collision.
