Three Vehicles Involved in Crash Near Normal Heights
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (June 8, 2022) — A San Diego multi-vehicle crash happened Wednesday morning at the northbound Interstate 15 Freeway and the westbound I-8 Freeway near Normal Heights.
The drivers of a two cars and a motorcycle were involved in the 5:30 a.m. crash, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch. They lost control after impacting gravel in the roadway.
Loose Gravel on Freeway
The report stated there was a “slippery substance” found on the roadway and it was later determined to be a large amount of loose gravel.
Authorities closed down the connector freeways temporarily to allow crews to cleanup the gravel spill. At this time, it’s unknown what caused the spill or if the truck driver stopped.
Additionally, the report mentioned there are minor injuries from the San Diego crash on the 15 Freeway.
Investigators continue to work on the case.
