Woman Injured in San Diego Pedestrian Accident
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Oct. 7, 2021) — A San Diego pedestrian accident happened Thursday morning on the Interstate 5 Freeway near B Street.
The collision happened about 6:59 a.m. on Oct. 7th in the Pershing Square area of the city, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A woman was walking on the right shoulder fog line when an oncoming silver Honda SUV struck her. She went down in the No. 1 lane near the center divider. The driver stopped and someone called 911 for help.
Major Injury Pedestrian Accident at I-5 and B Street
The CHP and San Diego Police Department sent deputies to the scene. Paramedics also responded to help the injured woman. They soon transported the injured woman to a hospital for treatment of major injuries.
Investigators seek to determine the cause of the crash and liability.
Meanwhile, traffic is backing up in the area due to the San Diego pedestrian accident.
