SAN MATEO, Calif. (Nov. 22, 2021) — A San Mateo crash on the westbound Highway 92 between a semi-truck and a Toyota Prius happened Monday, just east of Highway 101.

The two-vehicle crash happened at 7:39 a.m. on Nov. 22nd, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP reported the collision blocking the right two lanes of the highway.  The semi-truck was carrying 14,000 pounds of wooden crates at the time of the collision.

The Prius suffered major front-end damage in the crash. Someone in the car suffered major injuries, but it’s unknown at this time how many people in total were hurt in the San Mateo crash on Highway 92. Paramedics responded to the scene to transport at least one person to a hospital.

Additionally, the CHP issued a SigAlert due to the right lanes being blocked by vehicles.

Finally, the roadway reopened to traffic by 9 a.m., police said.
