Motorcycle Rider Hurt in Crash with Vehicle on I-5 Freeway
SANTA ANA, Calif. (June 13, 2022) — A Santa Ana motorcycle accident happened Monday morning on the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway near the eastbound Garden Grove (22) Freeway in Orange County.
The traffic accident occurred about 7:37 a.m. on June 13th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a driver in a white Lincoln SUV illegally crossed into the HOV lane and struck the motorcycle rider, the report said. The motorcyclist went down in the carpool lane, but both the HOV and No. 1 lane are blocked by vehicles.
Paramedics responded to the scene to help the injured motorcycle rider, but there are no further details.
Meanwhile, tow trucks removed both of the vehicles for evidence.
It’s unknown if any charges will be filed against the motorist who caused the crash.
