Abraham Lincoln Middle School Employee Arrested
SELMA, Calif. (April 12, 2024) – Selena Perez, 26, an employee with Abraham Lincoln Middle School in Selma, was arrested Wednesday on multiple sexual assault charges involving a female student.
The Selma Police Department arrested the Unified School District campus security officer and booked her at the Fresno County Jail. However, she was later released on $75,000 bail, according to a police press release. She no longer works at the school.
Selma Police charged the suspect with four sexual offense charges involving a child.
The charges are felonies including lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14, sexual battery, arranging a meeting with a minor, and annoying and harassing a child under the age of 18, police said. Selena Perez is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, April 24.
It’s unknown at this time if there are any other victims, but police are hoping if there are they will step forward. The suspect had worked at the school for roughly 1.5 years.
Selma Unified Superintendent Ed Gomes released a statement: We are providing support to affected students and families, and we have added extra counselors at the school site for any support for students and employees.
