Van Crashes Under Semi-Truck in Kerman
KERMAN, Calif. (Dec. 3, 2021) — A fatal Kerman crash between a maroon Chevrolet Astro van and a semi-truck happened Friday morning Madera Avenue (Highway 145) between West Jensen Avenue and W. North Avenue.
The two vehicles collided amid heavy fog in the area about 7:01 a.m. on Dec. 1st just south of the Kerman roundabout, according to the California Highway Patrol. The red van reportedly crashed underneath the side of the semi-truck’s trailer as the truck was make a left turn to head north on Highway 145. However, visibility at the time was roughly only 50 feet, according to Fox 26 News.

The Kerman Police Department, CHP officers and paramedics responded to the scene. The man driving the van died at the scene, but three other adults in the vehicle were taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno for treatment of moderate to severe injuries.
Police closed down Highway 145 between North and Jensen avenues due to the crash.
Meanwhile, tow trucks responded to remove the empty truck trailer off of the Astro van.
The investigation into the cause of the fatal Kerman crash and liability is ongoing.
