SACRAMENTO, Calif. (April 6, 2023) – Shanmugan Pirabarooban, 50, of Rocklin, died Tuesday afternoon in a pedestrian accident in Sacramento at 8th and P streets.
The deadly crash occurred around 1:40 p.m. on April 4th, according to The Sacramento Bee and KCRA News.
The Sacramento County Sheriff Coroner identified the man on its website.
A driver reportedly struck the man due to unknown circumstances in downtown Sacramento.
Firefighters and paramedics responded and located the victim down on the ground. However, Shanmugan Pirabarooban suffered major injuries and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, police were at the scene to investigate and the motorist stopped and cooperated with authorities.
The intersection of 8th and P streets was closed down for several hours after the incident.
The cause of the fatal Sacramento pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
