Man Struck, Killed on Harbor (110) Freeway Connector Road
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Sept. 7, 2021) – Steven Pendley, 40, is identified as the pedestrian struck by two vehicles in a fatal crash on a connector road from the Harbor (110) Freeway in downtown Los Angeles.
The deadly collision happened at 5:16 a.m. on the connector road leading from the northbound freeway to West Third Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner identified Steven Pendley as the man who died at the scene. The coroner did not have the man’s city of residence.
Meanwhile, the CHP’s preliminary investigation revealed the victim allegedly ran into the path of a vehicle. He darted into the roadway from the right shoulder to the center divider wall. An unknown vehicle struck him first and then a bobtail truck. The truck driver stopped and called 911 for help.
CHP officials questioned the truck driver who remained at the scene.
