Two Vans in Head-on Crash on Newton Road
STOCKTON, Calif. (June 10, 2021) — A Stockton head-on crash happened Thursday on Newton Road, just south of Stevenson Avenue.
The collision happened about 8:32 a.m. on June 10th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of two vans collided head-on due to unknown circumstances, police said. The speed limit here is 45 mph and there and vehicles may pass one another here when it is safe to do so. Often these types of collisions will take place when a driver attempts to pass another motorist when it is unsafe to do so.
The roadway was blocked by the vehicles and debris. Meanwhile, paramedics responded to help anyone hurt in the Stockton head-on crash.
Tow trucks removed both of the vehicles due to heavy damage. Investigators seek to determine liability for the collision. It’s unknown if any citations will be made or if alcohol and or drugs were factors.
