SUNOL, Calif. (Feb. 22, 2023) — A multi-vehicle Sunol crash happened Wednesday on the westbound state Route Highway 84 also known as Vallecitos Road near the Interstate 680 Freeway.
The collision occurred about 9:28 a.m. on Feb. 22nd, possibly in front of 6780 Vallecitos Road (SR-84), according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
The drivers involved included a white 2022 Toyota Camry, a gray Honda Civic, a white Toyota Prius and a white Hyundai SUV, the report said. The Camry had major damage on its left side and a blown out left tire. Also, one of the vehicles overturned, but landed back on its wheels.
Paramedics responded to help those hurt, but at least one person from the Toyota declined an ambulance.
Tow trucks removed at least three of the vehicles from the roadway.
Police issued a SigAlert for State Route 84, just east of the Interstate 680 Freeway as both directions of the roadway were blocked due to the crash.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the Highway 84 crash in Sunol.
