Police Search for Suspect in Fatal Hit-and-run Crash
APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (Oct. 20, 2021) — A 14-year-old boy died in an Apple Valley hit-and-run pedestrian accident Tuesday night on Ottawa Road.
The deadly crash took place about 8:11 p.m. on October 19, 2021 between Navajo Road and Manhasset Road in front of James Woody Park.
A driver struck the 14-year-old boy as he walked south from James Wood Park at the intersection.
The suspect in a white or silver Nissan 350Z or an Infinity G35 fled the scene without stopping to help the teenager.
Paramedics responded and found the injured victim down in the roadway. However, despite their efforts to save the teen he died at the scene. His family members created a Go Fund Me page to raise money for his funeral.
Prior to the fatal crash, witnesses saw the suspect traveling eastbound on Ottawa Road at speeds above 60 miles-per-hour.

Members of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigative Team (M.A.I.T) are conducting the traffic investigation. The suspect’s vehicle had a cracked windshield and tinted windows as well as front-end damage, police said.
Investigators closed down Ottawa Road between Navajo Road and Manhasset Road for approximately six hours.
They also interviewed multiple witnesses and reviewed evidence at the scene.
