Major Injury Crash in Pleasant Grove on Highway 99
PLEASANT GROVE, Calif. (Sept. 7, 2022) — The drivers of a hay truck and a Tesla collided on Highway 99 on Wednesday morning near West Catlett Road in Pleasant Grove.
The collision occurred on the southbound side of Hwy 99 about 11 a.m. on Sept. 7th, according to the California Highway Patrol. It’s unknown at this time what led up to the accident.
However, CHP officials say the white Tesla sports car went off the roadway and into a field after colliding with the hay truck. The woman driving the Tesla was found unconscious, but breathing after the collision. Fire officials were on scene to extricate her as she was trapped in the vehicle.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the woman to UC Davis Medical Center for treatment of major injuries. A tow truck removed the Tesla on a flatbed truck. The hay truck was removed from the roadway to the shoulder.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the Pleasant Grove crash.
