Woman Killed; Man Arrested on Suspicion of DUI
LONG BEACH, Calif. (April 18, 2022) – Tiffany Haynes, 32, of Los Angeles, died in a Long Beach crash on the Interstate 710 Freeway.
The deadly crash happened about 1 a.m. on Monday, April 18th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Additionally, a second driver identified as Alfonzo Star, 60, of Lakeview Terrace, was arrested following the crash. Police charged the Lakeview Terrace man with driving under the influence of alcohol, the CHP reported.
The multi-vehicle crash occurred on the northbound Long Beach (710) Freeway in Long Beach at the transition to the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway, according to the CHP.
Tiffany Haynes was driving a 2013 Toyota sedan that became stopped in the #2 lane of (the) northbound 710 Freeway, police said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Alfonzo Star was heading northbound on the freeway in a 2002 Chevrolet. His vehicle rear-ended the Toyota.
Next, a driver in a big rig truck stopped with his vehicle partially on the right shoulder of the freeway and partially in the No. 3 lane next to where the Toyota came to rest, the CHP reported.
Finally, another driver in a 2018 Ford swerved to the right and hit both the Toyota and the big rig, police said.
