Ceres Man, 21, Killed; Newman Woman, 34, Injured in Crash
STANISLAUS COUNTY, Calif. (July 7, 2022) — Timo Martinelli, 21, died, and Valerie Torres, 34, was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Crows Landing Road at Harding Road.
The motorists were involved in a head-on crash Wednesday at the Stanislaus County intersection.
The two-vehicle collision occurred about 4:25 p.m. on July 6th, just west of Turlock and northeast of Crows Landing, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The 21-year-old Ceres man was driving a 2003 Honda and the 34-year-old Newman woman was in a 2019 Honda at the time of the crash. Both vehicles suffered major front-end damage. Emergency responders located the 2019 Honda in the middle of the roadway and the older Honda wound up on the eastern side of the road. Both vehicles were facing a northeasterly direction following the crash.
The Newman woman survived with major injuries. Paramedics transported her to Doctors Medical Center. Timo Martinelli was apparently not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.
Finally, investigators are reviewing evidence from the crash. They have not determined whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash on Crows Landing Road.
