 Timothy Hain Injured in Pedestrian Accident Hollister Avenue Santa Barbara

Man, 68, Hospitalized in Critical Condition

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (Feb. 29, 2024) — Timothy Raymond Hain, 68, was critically injured in a pedestrian accident Tuesday night on Hollister Avenue in the Santa Barbara area.

The collision occurred at around 6 p.m. on Feb. 27th at Hollister Avenue and Auhay Drive, according to Noozhawk.

A driver in an eastbound Oldsmobile sedan reportedly struck the 68-year-old man who was walking in a crosswalk in a northbound direction.

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded with paramedics and rushed the victim to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of major injuries.

The driver involved, Florentino V. Lopez, 78, of Santa Barbara, stopped and cooperated with authorities and the investigation, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Traffic investigators are working on the case and they are asking witnesses to contact the CHP at 805-770-4800.
