Box Truck, Pickup in Crash on I-5 Freeway
ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. (March 13, 2024) — A fiery truck accident involving a pickup truck and box truck happened Wednesday morning on the Interstate 5 Freeway near Beach Boulevard in the Buena Park area.
The two-vehicle collision occurred during the busy rush hour at around 6 a.m. on March 13th, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
The vehicles collided in the southbound lanes of the I-5 just south of the Los Angeles-Orange County line, the report said.
The box truck reportedly overturned onto its side and the pickup truck had all-over damage and became completely engulfed in flames upon impact.
Paramedics responded to help at least one person with injuries, but there are no further details at this time.
Tow trucks removed the damaged vehicles and police issued a SigAlert due to traffic delays.
Authorities also closed down the Beach Boulevard off-ramp, but the carpool and fast lanes reopened at around 7:30 a.m.,, the report said.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the truck accident on the 5 Freeway.
