Head-on Crash on Highway 33 in Ventura
VENTURA, Calif. (June 9, 2022) — A head-on Ventura crash happened Thursday morning on State Route Highway 33, just north of Casitas Vista Road.
The collision occurred about 5:51 a.m. on June 9th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a pickup truck and a silver Mazda sedan collided due to unknown circumstances. The roadway became blocked in both directions of Highway 33.
The Ventura County Fire Department responded to help those injured. One person was possibly trapped in a vehicle. Paramedics transported one person with major injuries to Ventura County Medical Center. A second person was treated at the scene and released.
Meanwhile, a cleanup crew responded for a diesel fuel to spill from the crash.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the Ventura crash on Highway 33.
