2-Vehicle Collision on Domenigoni Parkway, Highway 79
WINCHESTER, Calif. (March 27, 2024) — A head-on Winchester crash happened Wednesday morning at Domenigoni Parkway, just east of State Route Highway 79.
The two-vehicle collision occurred on the westbound side of Domenigoni Parkway at around 7:15 a.m. on March 27th, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The drivers of a silver Honda Accord and a black SUV were involved in the accident. One of the vehicles veered into westbound lanes and collided with the other one. An automated iPhone message alerted police to the crash scene and the Hemet Police Department responded.
Cal Fire and the Hemet Fire Department sent paramedics to help at least one person with minor injuries and checked on an infant or child in one of the vehicles.
Tow trucks removed both damaged vehicles from the roadway. However, traffic in the area around the crash scene was heavy and drivers were making U-turns on the dirt median to avoid the blocked roadway.
The Hemet Police Department/CHP is heading up the investigation into liability for the crash on Domenigoni Parkway.
