Passenger Killed in Fresno Crash is Identified
FRESNO, Calif. (July 5, 2022) – Yang Vue, 38, of Sanger, died and three people were injured Saturday in a collision at Jensen Avenue and Marks Avenue in Fresno, the Fresno County Coroner said.
Angie Hlee Thao, 24, was arrested following the suspected DUI crash at the Fresno intersection, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officers say the Fresno woman was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of Saturday’s 4 a.m. July 3rd collision.
Authorities say that Angie Thao was driving a white 2002 Acura RSX northbound on Marks Avenue, approaching Jensen Avenue, in Fresno.
She reportedly ran through the stop sign at the intersection and drove directly into the path of a black 2013 Nissan pickup truck, the Fresno Bee reported.
The suspect’s front-seat passenger, Yang Vue, died in the accident.
3 Hurt in Fresno Crash; Driver Arrested DUI
Angie Thao ended suffered major injuries in the collision. Paramedics transported her to the Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Meanwhile, the 39-year-old Fresno man driving the truck and his female passenger suffered with minor injuries. A 15=year-old boy riding in the Nissan with them was not hurt.
Meanwhile, the CHP apparently arrested Angie Thao on suspicion of DUI and manslaughter. The Fresno DUI crash is still under investigation.
However, authorities noted that Angie Hlee Thao remains hospitalized.
At the time of the July 3rd crash, she was out of jail on a bond for a previous DUI arrest in January 2022.
