Ramona Woman Killed in Pedestrian Accident is Identified
RAMONA, Calif. (October 1, 2021) – Tara Jean McKenney, 40, of Ramona, died in a pedestrian accident on Main Street, known as Highway 67, in Ramona.
The San Diego Medical Examiner identified the Ramona woman on their website.
The California Highway Patrol said the collision happened at 9:31 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 1 in front of 2457 Main Street. CHP officers responded to the crash scene between Wynola Street and Kalbaugh Street. Paramedics also responded and located the severely injured woman on the ground where they pronounced her death upon their arrival.
Authorities report Tara Jean McKenney was walking westbound in the roadway and she attempted to cross State Route 67. An oncoming northbound vehicle struck the victim.
One report indicated the woman was running in the area. ason at 2457 Main Street in the city of Ramona.
Meanwhile, the motorist stopped and cooperated with authorities following the pedestrian accident. Also, police officers closed down a stretch of Main Street to investigate the collision.
Finally, the cause of the fatal Ramona pedestrian crash and liability remains under investigation.
