4-Vehicle Crash on Fairmont Avenue in Kensington Area
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (April 7, 2022) — Three people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Fairmont Avenue at Aldine Drive in the Kensington area of San Diego.
The traffic accident occurred about 10 p.m. on April 6th, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.
There were four vehicles involved in the collision and three people injured, San Diego police said.
A 31-year-old man was driving north on Fairmont Avenue attempted to merge into the far right lane. That’s when he allegedly clipped the back of another car in the lane
The second driver apparently lost control of their vehicle and went over the dirt center median. The vehicle wound up in the southbound lanes and collided with a third vehicle. Meanwhile, the first car crashed into a large construction truck parked on the east curb, police said.
The 31-year-old man driving the first vehicle had complaints of pain and unknown injuries. Paramedics transported him by ambulance to the hospital.
The second motorist, also a 31-year-old man, suffered serious internal injuries. Paramedics took him to the hospital and he is being treated for a fractured pelvis, lacerated liver and kidney, police said.
Finally, a 65-year-old man in the passenger seat of the parked construction truck had a fractured sternum.
