Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 99 in Chico
CHICO, Calif. (April 8, 2022) — One person was injured Thursday in a 4-vehicle crash on Highway 99 in Chico near the East 20th Street off ramp.
The multi-vehicle collision occurred about 3:52 p.m. on Thursday, April 7th in the northbound lanes of Highway 99, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver of a pickup truck allegedly rear-ended a sedan in the fast lane as traffic began to slow down, according to the Oroville-Mercury Register. Next, the pickup truck collided with a second pickup truck and the sedan hit a third pickup truck.
Police and Chico Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene to help those involved. An ambulance transported the driver of the sedan to the hospital for mild to moderate injuries.
Meanwhile, investigators are reviewing the facts and will determine fault for the Chico car crash on Highway 99.
