Firebaugh Fatal Crash
FIREBAUGH, Calif. (April 11, 2022) — James Whitley, 35, of San Francisco, died in a collision between a car and a semi-truck at West Nees Avenue and North Russell Avenue.
The crash occurred about 5:38 p.m. on April 9th at the San Jose intersection, according to the Fresno County Sheriff Coroner. A semi truck reportedly collided with a white sedan at the intersection in Firebaugh.
CHP officials said the big rig involved was pulling a trailer carrying unspecified items.
Emergency medical crews arrived at the intersection and located James Whitley in a white sedan with significant damage. Paramedics attempted to save the man’s life, but he was later confirmed dead as a result of the crash. It’s unknown at this time if others suffered injuries in the two-vehicle crash. Investigators remained at the crash scene for hours afterwards in an effort to determine liability.
