Man Arrested for Alleged DUI in Fatal Crash
LONG BEACH, Calif. (May 4, 2022) – Bryan Grayley, 66, of Long Beach, was arrested on DUI charges following a fatal crash on Willow Street near the Interstate 605 Freeway in Long Beach.
The collision occurred on Willow Street about 6:20 p.m. on May 4th, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The Long Beach man was driving a 2017 Subaru Outback that allegedly rear-ended a 1995 GMC Yukon.
The GMC went off the side of Willow Street and crashed into the Coyote Creek flood control channel and overturned.
Paramedics responded and transported the driver from the GMC to a hospital. The 53-year-old Compton later died following the collision. The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner has not released his name.
Meanwhile, Bryan Grayley’s Subaru was stopped in the eastbound lanes of Willow Street. Police believe the Subaru was traveling at high speed prior to rear-ending the GMC Yukon.
Later, police arrested him on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and felony DUI. He was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail, police said.
