Motorcycle Rider Hurt in Hit-and-run Crash on I-80 Freeway
RICHMOND, Calif. (May 17, 2022) — A Richmond motorcycle crash happened Tuesday morning on the westbound Interstate 80 Freeway, just east of Cutting Boulevard off ramp.
The alleged hit-and-run collision occurred about 7:28 a.m. on May 17th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the motorcyclist and a gray Volkswagen sedan or Honda Accord collided due to unknown circumstances.
The motorcyclist went down in the fast lane of the freeway. Meanwhile, the driver in the car fled the scene without stopping to help the victim.
The Contra Costa County Fire Department responded to the scene to help the injured motorcycle rider.
Meanwhile, authorities are on the lookout for the gray car with left-side front-end damage on its driver side. The license plate number was released as 7YNM135.
