Suspect in Fatal Hit-and-run Crash Arrested
HANFORD, Calif. (April 10, 2023) – Chelsey Jacuinde, 30, of Hanford, died Friday in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on 10th Avenue in Hanford.
Also, police arrested the suspect, Thomas Barker, 35, of Hanford, the following day.
The deadly crash occurred around 9:15 p.m. on April 7th in the northbound lanes of 10th Avenue at Tenth Street, according to Your Central Valley.
Sadly, Chelsey Jacuinde suffered major injuries and died at the scene.
The Hanford Police Department responded to the scene and spoke with witnesses who told them they saw a black Dodge Charger fleeing the scene. Police were given a partial license plate number and managed to locate the crashed vehicle and its alleged driver identified as Thomas Barker. Authorities arrested the man and charged him with hit and run resulting in death or injury and vehicular manslaughter.
