Woman, 21, Killed in 3-Vehicle Collision on Highway 65
BAKERSFIELD, CALIF. (April 16, 2024) — A 21-year-old Bakersfield woman is dead after a three-vehicle crash on Highway 65, just south of Highway 155 and east of Delano.
The traffic accident occurred on Highway 65 at around 5 p.m. on April 13, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A driver in a Toyota was heading north on Highway. 65 when the vehicle was hit broadside on its driver’s side by a Ford whose driver crossed over into opposing traffic, Bakersfield Now reports.
Authorities say the driver of the Ford lost control before hitting the Toyota and went on to collide with a Honda that was traveling behind the Toyota.
The 21-year-old woman riding as a passenger in the Toyota died and other people riding in the Toyota and Honda were injured.
Paramedics rushed those with moderate to major injuries to local hospitals.
The Kern County Coroner’s Office will identified the woman who died after her relatives are notified.
It’s unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the fatal crash on Highway 65.
